PURE IRISH BREEDING

I decided to breed pure Irish Wheatens couple years ago, as I mentioned in info/contact.
I have also mentioned problems with coat type, misunderstanding of standard in dog shows and progressive devastation of original type of Wheaten in part coat.

What does the pure Irish breeding mean for me? There are only Irish dogs in pedigrees
of young Wheatens in kennel Wheaten Darling. In all generations. And why is it so important

for me, why do not I like American dog in for example fiveth generation? We still do not know much about gentetics, we are not sure what we will get back in genes. It is not possible to forget the non standard dog, who´s genes are in all his offsprings. After more generations we could get dogs with non standard coat or colour. For example my female Petra has non standard american dog in fiveth generation of her pedigree. When you look to Petra, she is Irish in coat. In her two litters, always with pure Irish male, I got some pups with untypical coat.

Coat type is typical from the first look over the dog. The health is more important.
In American breeding there are diseases of eyes, kidney and intestines. Their genetical base was already found, some carriers were found out, many dogs died from those diseases. American dogs were imported to Europe as well and the diseases are spread also here, for example in Sweden, Finland, Denmark. It is necessary to be careful in Wheaten breeding in Europe.

I have decided to go in breeding pure irish way, I have looked for lines to very nice dogs with typical beautiful shiny Irish coat and of course free of genetic diseases. I had to wait for dogs with such quality blood, also two years. Tilll now I could say, it was worth it. We will see more, when Dutch girls become mothers.
