DOG SHOW, AURA, FINNLAND 13.8.2005

I have visited dog show in Finnish town Aura in August 2005. The judge was Mrs. Susan Kealy from Ireland, what seemed to be promise of judging with preference of original typical Irish coat in Wheatens. Unfortunately a surprise came. Total number of 19 entered Wheatens promised big fight.

This year´s weather was a bit untypical, heavy rain took turns with sunshine.

One year old male in junior class: Grairish Highdrift - excellent 1.

Open class males: left exellent 1 Jazz Dancer de Morrigan, right excellent 2 Geijes Xigglypuff

Big surprise came in champion class of males, I have to say unpleasant surprise. The only entered Wheaten with non standard coat texture and colour won his class, in spite of other typicaly coated Wheatens in this class. Left: excellent 1 Cara Fionn Connaught, right: excellent 2 Geijes Urchin - Irish.

Placing in champion class, on right excellent 3 Choroschie Drusja´s Adonis.

Veteran class males: 9 - years old Geijes Skelly Stillman. Excellent 1.

Junior class bitches: excellent 1 Zarosan Caitrin (left) and excellent 2 Grairish Homeleigh.

Middle class females: excellent 1 Leith Bhrogan Casey.

In open class females won Grairish Glamour Girl - excellent 1. With excellent 2 Zarosan Unique Lily.

Females champion class: excellent 1 Geijes Tullamore Tiger, excellent 2 came to Geijes Upsy - Daisy.

In the final competition between the best male and female won wonderful female Geijes Tullamore Tiger. The "best of opposite sex" came surprisingly to untypical male Cara Fionn Connaught. It is for me unpleasant surprise, that Irish judge can place so high dog with faults and even eliminating faults mentioned in breed standard. I got the feeling Irish judges are trying to destroy their original breed. The judge justified her judgement with better movement of winning dog. It could be, but the worse movement is not written as eliminating fault in standard, unlike the wolly coat.

One more The best of breed.

Kennel Geijes showed nice balanced dogs with wonderful coats and nice heads.
